Statue heads O'Brien 10 left in Phoenix
Aidan O’Brien is responsible for 10 of the 23 two-year-olds still in the Waterford Wedgewood Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday.
His team is headed by Coventry Stakes winner Statue Of Liberty, Hold That Tiger, successful in the Railway Stakes last time, and Great Pyramid. The latter is a full-brother to the brilliant Rock Of Gibraltar and made a winning debut at Cork on Monday.
O’Brien won the race last year with Johannesburg.
There are five British entries in the €168,800 Group One contest run over six furlongs.
They are Night Speed, trained by Brian Meehan, Polar Force (Mick Channon), Revenue (Michael Bell), Tacitus (Richard Hannon) and Cassis (Jeremy Noseda).
