Tamadhor can build on Curragh display
Just three days after Dermot Weld’s Postulation overcame his elders in the Silver Stakes at the Curragh, this Hamdan Al Maktoum-owned daughter of Arcano has excellent prospects of building on her creditable six to Pleascach in the Irish 1,000 Guineas.
In the Curragh classic, Tamadhor chased the leaders throughout and kept going well to be beaten less than four lengths behind Jim Bolger’s Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby-bound filly.
The selection’s juvenile form included a close second to Qipco 1,000 Guineas heroine and Investec Oaks runner-up Legatissimo in Galway and a maiden success at Leopardstown in September when Guineas fifth Boca Baciata finished third.
With Chris Hayes again in the saddle, Tamadhor should prevail.
A promising third to Miss Katie Mae on her debut at the Curragh on Guineas weekend, Michael Halford’s Vitello appeals in the two-year-old fillies maiden.
With normal improvement, the daughter of Ravens Pass should prove too strong for Jim Bolger’s Bobailin, third behind Most Beautiful and Waterloo Bridge in Navan, and the Dermot Weld-trained Haqeeba, who finished alongside the Bolger filly when they made their respective debuts.
Runner-up to Sir Isaac Newton at Gowran Park on his second start, Stop And Linger has obvious claims in the Irish Stallion farms Maiden.
