Mush aiming for Sweet success
The Ed Dunlop-trained youngster created a good impression when making a successful debut in a seven-furlong maiden on the Polytrack of Kempton last month.
âMusharakaat is in good form at the moment â I spoke to Ed this morning and he seems happy with her,â said Angus Gold, racing manager to owner Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum.
âWe had the option of running in a novice contest at Lingfield next Tuesday but we feel she has improved since Kempton and deserves to take her chance at Newmarket.
âShe is taking a big step up but, if you take out Luca Cumaniâs filly Khor Sheed, the race has an open look about it so we thought that we would let Musharakaat run and see if she is up to Group class.
âShe will certainly get the seven furlongs and we are hopeful that she is a progressive filly. She won nicely on her debut, when she probably needed the run, and she will have come on for that outing.
âWe have given her entries in some of the top end-of-season races and her sire Iffraaj is doing well.
âWe donât know much about her but she seems to be heading in the right direction and we will learn a bit more about her on Saturday.â
Khor Sheed is sure to be a leading fancy on the back of a Listed win over six furlongs of the July course in June.
Luca Cumani, who trains the daughter of Dubawi, expects her to take the seven furlongs in her stride.
âSheâs doing well. Weâre happy with her progress since her last race and we are hopeful of a good run,â said the Newmarket trainer.
âThe step up to seven furlongs should be no problem.â
Godolphin rely on White Moonstone, who made a pleasing introduction when successful in a six-furlong filliesâ maiden at Ascot two weeks ago.
âI was very pleased with how White Moonstone won on her debut at Ascot and she came back from that race in very good form,â trainer Saeed bin Suroor told www.godolphin.com. âShe is taking a step up in class and distance but she is an improving filly and deserves to take her chance in a race like this.â
