Glamorous ladies unimpressed by dressed-down gentlemen
The lads wore whatever they liked with minimal getting-ready time and not even a cursory mention that FCUK was so last year, sweetie.
Some did make the most of the occasion and none more so than brothers Francis and Aidan Murray who gave questionable reports that their pink tuxedo and orange pin-striped ensembles were bought from a designer on the Champs Elysees.
Francis said: “It’s still the traditional fashion for guys and still shirts and pants, fellas just won’t chance the outrageous”, while their friends Peter Hunt and Eamonn Keane gave even the most distinguished of gentlemen a run for their money. “I think I’m the only guy wearing a white jacket here. It’s a disgrace,” said Peter.
On the day they, nor their fellow male brethren did nearly enough to impress the judges for the best dressed award.
And with the girls upping the ante it is likely to be a long few years before a man will claim the top spot during Galway race week.
