Holland tunes up with Haydock double
His first success came when Seel Of Approval stamped his authority on the Manson Insurance Group EBF Classified Stakes.
Seel Of Approval quickened in good style to beat Proud Boast by one and a half lengths at 1-4, just two days after scoring at York.
The winning jockey, who took his tally for the year to 135 with the brace, believes the Roger Charlton-trained sprinter has a great chance of providing him with his third success in the Ayr Gold Cup later this month if the dry spell continues.
He has landed the big Scottish handicap in the past on Royal Figurine in 1995 and on Continent two years ago.
He said: "He's an Ayr Gold Cup horse ground permitting. If it was fast ground it would be perfect. He would be the ideal candidate and he could give me my third Ayr Gold Cup."
Holland's second victory came on Camelot for Falbrav's trainer Luca Cumani.
The 11-4 chance made all the running to beat Summer View by a length and a half in the Kings Regiment Cup Handicap.
Cumani was himself completing a double following Kuster's win 30 minutes earlier.
Holland said: "I was able to dictate it. That puts us in great form, especially Luca's team, they are in terrific form. So hopefully it will carry through until tomorrow."
At Kempton Park, Jeremy Noseda gave a sigh of relief as Park Accord lived up to her tall reputation on her racecourse debut.
Despite having not been seen in public, the filly went into yesterday's Simon Weston Fillies' Conditions Stakes as one of the ante-post favourites for next year's 1000 Guineas.
And the daughter of Desert Prince remains very much in that position after a convincing display under Frankie Dettori.
Sent into the lead just over a furlong out, the 11-10 favourite found more when challenged by Well Known and stayed on strongly to score by a length.
