Ireland narrowly misses out on kayak medal in Baku
Jenny Egan has narrowly missed out on a kayaking medal at the European Games in Baku, being denied in canoe sprint’s longest race by less than half a second, finishing fourth.
Behind eventual winner Maryna Litvinchuk of Belarus in the women’s K1 5000m Final, the Leixlip paddler was edged out of the medals In a three-way battle by second-placed Lani Belcher of Britain and bronze-medallist Renata Csay of Hungary, whose margin over Egan was a mere 0.455 seconds.
