Canoeist Jenny Egan and track cyclist Felix English both came agonisingly close to medals at the European Games in Minsk as both were edged out in dramatic finals.

Jenny Egan has narrowly missed out on a kayaking medal at the European Games in Baku, being denied in canoe sprint’s longest race by less than half a second, finishing fourth.
