Drug cheat White details doping abuse

KELLI WHITE claimed she was treated “like a guinea pig” for new drugs, according to French paper L’Equipe.

The US sprinter has already admitted she knowingly took steroids given to her by Bay Area Lab Co-Operative (Balco) president Victor Conte.

She is serving a two-year ban after admitting using banned substances.

“I was offered a lot of things and asked to test them to see if I responded better to certain products,” she is quoted as saying.

White made the claim as she testified about her drug use to the World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada) executive committee in Montreal, Canada, on Monday.

L’Equipe, which said it was the only news organisation inside the hearing, published a transcript of her testimony yesterday.

White said: “I tried a lot of stimulants and modafinil suited me perfectly. The same for THG, which helped put on muscle very quickly.”

White tested positive for modafinil at the 2003 World Championships in Paris and was stripped of her gold medals in the 100 and 200m.

White said she passed 17 doping tests in 2003 before that event.
