Just a shame reporter Tom Rinaldi didn’t double check a few details before starting the live interview - like the golfer’s name.

Fair play to Lowry, he kept a straight face - but Twitter lit up with viewers pointing out the howler.

Although some were ready to embrace this new sporting hero.

One viewer felt it could have been worse - at least he got his first name right.

Rinaldi isn’t the only one who needs to do some homework on Lowry - whoever was operating the Master Leaderboard seemed to be under the impression he was Australian.
