Donald tops Westwood at Wentworth to claim number one ranking

Luke Donald became world number one for the first time today when he beat Lee Westwood – the man who held top spot – in a sudden death play-off for the BMW PGA title at Wentworth.

Ireland's Shane Lowry finished on -2, tied for fourth spot. Rory McIlroy finished on +3.
