Offaly amateur Shane Lowry regained the outright top spot when play got underway at the 3 Irish Open in Baltray again this morning, birdying the third to draw one stroke ahead of Robert Rock on 17 under.

Offaly amateur Shane Lowry regained the outright top spot when play got underway at the 3 Irish Open in Baltray again this morning, birdying the third to draw one stroke ahead of Robert Rock on 17 under.

Lowry was cheered on to the opening tee and after two opening pars gave the fans more to shout about when he struck his second shot to 12 feet on the downwind long third.
