Ian Woosnam, who has not played a European Tour event since July because of a continuing battle with chronic post-viral fatigue syndrome, plans to launch his senior golf career next March at the DGM Barbados Open.

The former world number one turns 50 on March 2, just two days before the event.

“Being a resident in Barbados for some of the year means that I have the opportunity to play Royal Westmoreland fairly regularly, so it will be great to make my European Seniors Tour debut there,” he said.
