Padraig Harrington has admitted his bitter disappointment after he lost by one hole to Stewart Cink in the second round of the World Matchplay Championship at The Gallery Golf Club.

Harrington said: "It was always going to be difficult after that start - you can't give a four hole lead to anybody," he said.

"The first six holes all went against me. Any hole I looked like winning I halved and four of the holes I could have halved, I lost."

After falling three behind after the first five holes, Harrington played steadily through the rest of the round but could not make up the deficit.

Elsewhere Tiger Woods beat South Africa's Tim Clark five and four and Ian Poulter beat Fellow Brit Bradley Dredge three and one.
