Immelman makes move in Texas
Trevor Immelman has given himself the chance to make instant amends for losing a play-off on the US Tour.
The South African, who bogeyed the final hole to fall into a tie with Jim Furyk at the Wachovia Championship last Sunday, made a third round charge at the Byron Nelson Championship in Irving, Texas, today.
Immelman went to the turn in a four-under-par 31 to move up from joint eighth to third on nine under, three behind Australian Adam Scott.
Playing partner Luke Donald, however, slipped to 16th spot with an outward 35, following an opening birdie with a bogey and then seven pars in a row, missing chances from five and eight feet.
Scott, third last weekend and joint leader at halfway, birdied the second and fourth to be two ahead of American Brett Wetterich.
A day after just missing out on what would have been just the fourth 59 in US Tour history Arron Oberholser remained in fifth place by covering the first seven holes in one under.
