The life story of golfer Gary Player, almost certainly the world’s most travelled sportsman, is to be documented at the World Golf Hall of Fame in Florida.

Entitled ‘Gary Player: A Global Journey’, the exhibit will be unveiled during the Players Championship in March.

“The Hall of Fame does a terrific job telling the story of its members throughout the museum,” said the 70-year-old South African.

“I am honoured and excited by their decision to shine the light on my story and am eager to see the final product.”

The exhibition will showcase Player’s career Grand Slam trophies, plus all of his significant major championship artefact, including his nine major championship medals, the Black Knight Blade Putter used to win the Grand Slam and more than 100 other worldwide events, scorecards, crystal and commemorative gifts.

His green jacket from the 1961 Masters will also be on display.
