Garcia and Poulter in play-off
Ryder Cup team-mates Sergio Garcia and Ian Poulter went into a play-off for the Volvo Masters at Valderrama today after a tie on the seven-under-par mark of 277.
Garcia missed a four-footer on the last and that left Poulter with a 20-footer to win, but it was well wide.
Scot Alastair Forsyth, three ahead at the start of the day, bogeyed the first two and dropped another shot at the 16th to finish one behind. He did not have a birdie all day.
Forsyth's hopes went when he bunkered his approach, had to hole it and left it six feet short.
Poulter’s approach had finished 20 feet from the flag and he had it to win, but he got the line wrong and his par meant a play-off with Garcia.
