Ryder Cup trio out of Heritage tournament
Three of Europe’s Ryder Cup heroes have pulled out of this week’s Heritage tournament at Woburn, perhaps not surprisingly.
Paul McGinley, Thomas Levet and Paul Casey were all due to play but they have decided they need a week’s rest after their exertions at Oakland Hills.
Four of the triumphant side – Colin Montgomerie, Padraig Harrington, Ian Poulter and David Howell – are still in the field, however, along with US Open champion Retief Goosen.
Harrington and Poulter are drawn together in the first two rounds.
