Garcia back in the groove

Sergio Garcia has returned to winning ways 19 days before the Ryder Cup.

Spain’s world number five today captured the Kolon Cup Korean Open by three strokes, firing a closing 67 to set a tournament record 23-under-par total of 265.

Garcia has now won on three continents this season. He opened the year with victory in the Mercedes Championship in Hawaii and in April took the Spanish Open.

One of the questions for European cup captain Sam Torrance now, though, is whether he partners the clearly n-form Garcia with the clearly out-of-form Jesper Parnevik.

They won three of their four games together in Boston three years ago and halved the other, but the Swede has not won for 18 months and is struggling badly with his putting.
