Luna and Derksen share Woburn lead
Santiago Luna and Robert-Jan Derksen share the lead at five under par after the first round of the Victor Chandler British Masters at Woburn.
Spaniard Luna and Dutchman Derksen were playing together and anybody watching them at the 538-yard seventh will certainly recall it.
The Madrid golfer fired a one iron to seven feet and eagled it, but only after Derksen had chipped in from 30 feet for a three of his own.
Ian Poulter gave his confidence a much-needed boost with an opening 68 to lie one shot off the leaders.
The 26-year-old is the man on stand-by for Europe's Ryder Cup team in September, having finished 11th in the points race nearly nine months ago.
"God forbid that anything happens to anybody, but the date of the match is on mind and I need to be right on my game then just in case," he said.
Poulter has had a slow start to the year after an 11-week total winter break during which he became a father for the first time.
Poulter's playing partner Colin Montgomerie had a two-under-par 70 and remains favourite to go one better than the last two weeks, which saw him finish second in Germany and at Wentworth.
Welshman Phillip Price is in the group with Poulter on four under.
Sharing third place with Poulter and Price are defending champion Thomas Levet, Scot Raymond Russell - another to eagle the seventh - and Dane Soren Hansen.
Ian Woosnam recovered well from his nightmare at Wentworth. Three under par after five holes, Woosnam looked a different man from the one who shot 84 last week - his third worst score in Europe ever - but then came home in 39 for a level par 72.
Lee Westwood, trying to avoid a fourth successive missed cut, was one better than that and was understandably disappointed to finish with a bogey
