Sheva’s shocker on Tour debut
The brief highlight for the 36-year-old amateur, who retired from football after Euro 2012, was a birdie on the 132-yard second at the Kharkov Superior Cup in Ukraine.
However, eight bogeys to the turn saw the two-handicapper go out in 43 and although his back nine began with four pars in five holes, a double-bogey five and dropped shots at two other holes saw him sign for an 84.
Marginally better was Russia’s former tennis world No 1 Yevgeny Kafelnikov, who carded an 80 after two birdies, eight bogeys and a double-bogey seven. France’s Victor Rui leads the event on eight under.
