Darcy returns to Tour for Italian reunion
The inaugural event is being played at Circolo Golf Venezia, and for Darcy and several others in the field it will be a sentimental week.
Darcy last played at the club in 1974 in the Italian Open along with Scotland’s Bernard Gallacher, Englishmen Tommy Horton and Peter Townsend, and Spain’s Manuel Pinero, who are also competing this week.
“They have a wonderful course here so it’s nice to be back. My form has been up and down lately but hopefully I will be able to perform well,” said Darcy.
With four second places finishes since turning 50 in August of 2002, he hopes to break through soon.
“I have enjoyed playing golf in my 50s and feel that a win will come if I keep plugging away,” said Darcy.
