All-Ireland SFC final weather forecast: What Kerry and Mayo fans can expect on the day

All good things must come to an end, and it seems like this extended heat wave we are all enjoying in Ireland may be about to reach a premature conclusion. Temporarily at least.

All roads lead to Croke Park on Sunday afternoon as Kerry take on Mayo in the All-Ireland SFC final and unfortunately the forecast isn’t for the incredible sunshine we have experienced recently.

The good news though for those that will be in Dublin for the big game is that it won’t be wet and miserably cold either come throw-in.

In fact, for those heading east from Kerry and Mayo in particular, the weather in the capital will actually be better than what they will be leaving behind.

“While the sun may break through at times, it’ll be generally cloudy,” confirmed a meteorologist at Met Eireann on Friday.

“It should remain dry for the game with just the odd patch of light drizzle possible at most.

“Temperatures of around 18 or 19 degrees are expected but it will be breezy with a moderate to fresh westerly wind.

“There will be similar conditions in Mayo and Kerry so fans might actually be leaving behind slightly wetter conditions but again nothing significant!”
