Man, 30s, dies in two-car crash in Meath

A man in his 30s has died in a two-car collision in county Meath this afternoon.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to the crash that happened on the M4 road westbound at Junction 9 (Enfield) at approximately 2.30pm.

The deceased was the driver of one of the cars. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has since been taken to the local mortuary where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course. The coroner has been notified.

A woman in her 30s was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The road is closed pending examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the crash to come forward particularly any road users who were travelling on the M4 near Junction 9 between 2pm and 3pm and who may have camera footage.
