DINGLE and its hinterland was heaving last weekend with music lovers for Other Voices, but the aborigines of the peninsula would hardly have noticed Our Lord and Saviour himself doing an acoustic duet with the Prince of Darkness in St. James.

Caid is God on the Dingle peninsula, and the faithful of the western end were more pre-occupied with this weekend’s ceremonies involving the senior teams of Daingean Uí Chúis and An Ghaeltacht – or the two mostly westerly sports clubs in Europe as tourism marketeers would have it - playing in respective Munster finals on Saturday in Rathkeale and Sunday in Thurles.
