TG4 have confirmed they will live stream Saturday’s Allianz Hurling League clash between Cork and Limerick.

The fixture had drawn much attention and commentary earlier this week when it was confirmed the game would not be broadcast live by either TG4 or RTÉ.

TG4’s broadcast pick for the evening is Dublin-Donegal (7.30pm) in Division 1 of the football league. As RTÉ cannot broadcast games at the same as TG4, they proposed a 6pm televised throw-in for Cork-Limerick at Páirc Uí Chaoimh.

But as confirmed by Cork GAA CEO Kevin O’Donovan on Tuesday, Cork did not agree to this earlier throw-in time as it would overlap with the Ireland-England Six Nations game (4.45pm start) and they did not want to “deprive” their supporters of the chance to see both games.

TG4 sought permission late on Tuesday evening to live stream the game on their online platforms, with confirmation of the greenlighting of that request arriving Wednesday lunchtime.

The action will be available to viewers across the TG4 Player and TG4 App from 7.25pm on Saturday night, ahead of throw-in at 7.30pm.

Commentary for the match will be provided by TG4’s GAA Beo team led by Micheál Ó Drisleáin and Pat Fleury.

A crowd close to 30,000 is expected at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh, such is the anticipation of this latest meeting between two counties who delivered a pair of hurling classics during last year’s championship.
