After the opening fortnight of Munster round-robin action last April, a degree of uncertainty hung over Patrick Collins’ grip on the Cork No.1 jersey.

Any switch by management would have seen newcomer Brion Saunderson promoted. The switch and promotion never came. It didn’t need to come for Saunderson to reflect on his debut year with Cork as hugely enjoyable and educational.
