Outstanding GAA tribute video from Meath supporters

“Will we see another Geraghty run amok on a playing field?”

Outstanding GAA tribute video from Meath supporters

Meath have had a rousing anthem penned for them ahead of their Leinster football final with Dublin on July 20.

Set to the tune of Lorde’s huge hit ‘Royals’ the hilarious song ‘The Royal County’ will be just the thing to get Meath supporters psyched up before the match.

Written by and starring Davy O'Neill and produced by Trevor O'Neill, lyrics include:

“You’ll never beat the Royals,

you can call us team green,

The colour blue just ain’t for us,

we’ll head to Croker on the bus.

Sean Boylan was a ruler, ruler….

but now we look upon O’Dowd,

Cos baby he rules”

The song also makes reference to the infamous Meath v Louth Leinster football final of 2010 which saw Meath crowned champions after a very dubious Joe Sheridan goal.

Can’t see the Louth fans being too happy with this verse:

“I remember big Joe scored the goal,

against them Louth boys right at the end, they weren’t happy.

Looked like he was driving through rugby posts,

But we still lifted the cup, so who gives a rat’s ass.”

It may not be popular in other parts of Leinster but we reckon the Royal county will be rocking to this one for the next few weeks. Well done lads.
