Daly to continue as Dublin hurling boss
On the same night that Jim Gavin was installed as Dublin's new senior football manager, it was also confirmed that Anthony Daly will continue in the hurling role.
Daly has managed the Dublin senior hurlers for the past four years, guiding them to their first Allianz League title since 1939 and two final appearances in the Leinster Championship.
Daly's men were beaten by Tipperary in a closely-fought All-Ireland semi-final 14 months ago, but the 2012 campaign was a largely forgettable one for the Metropolitans.
The Dubs were relegated to Division 1B of the league for next year after losing a play-off match to Galway, while they bowed out in the second phase of the All-Ireland qualifiers to Daly's native Clare.
The Clarecastle man feels he has more to give to the job though, and has agreed to stay in charge for a fifth season.
The reappointment was made at last night's Dublin County Board meeting, with Richie Stakelum and Ciarán Hetherton - both of who have been involved for the full length of Daly's tenure - staying in place as selectors.
But team coach John McEvoy, who was a selector for the past two years, has stepped down due to other commitments and Vincent Teehan has also ended his four-year run as a selector.
