Veteran Tyrone forward Stephen O'Neill says he is well primed to make a return for the Red Hands for their Ulster SFC tussle with Antrim on May 23, after a promising outing for his club at the weekend.

O'Neill scored six points for Clan na nGael in their Tyrone club tie with Eskra on Sunday.

The former Footballer of the Year is glad to be back in action for the first time since sustaining an elbow injury during the Dr. McKenna Cup final against Donegal last January.

"The injury has finally cleared itself up, I was a long time out and I'm glad to be back," he said at today's All-Ireland SFC launch in Tralee.

"I was back playing for the club on Sunday, and everything went well, so touch wood I will stay good.

"It was definitely frustrating but these things happen. You just have to get on with it and work with the physios the best you can."

Joe McMahon also returned to action at the weekend, following time out with a knee injury, and O'Neill is hopeful that Joe's brother Justin will also be back in action shortly.

"Most of the injuries are clearing up now and we're just waiting on Justin McMahon to come back. Most of the other boys are injury free and training away at the minute.

"It will be another week or two (before Justin returns) and then he'll be back training again. He has a hamstring pull."
