McCarthy only major injury doubt for Cork
Cork are sweating over the fitness of Niall McCarthy ahead of next Sunday's Allianz National Hurling League Division 1 final against Galway.
The Carrigtwohill clubman sustained a hand injury earlier in the league, and faces a race against time to be available for this weekend's decider.
Cork manager Denis Walsh says McCarthy is unlikely to feature in the Semple Stadium showdown.
"Niall is out with a finger injury which is unfortunate. He was going very strong for us earlier in the year," he said.
"It is possibly unlikely (that he will play on Sunday), but we will see tomorrow night. He hasn't much done, but certainly he will be a big player for us come the summer."
Walsh says that apart from McCarthy's injury, it is pretty much all systems go for the Rebels.
"There is a couple of lads who didn't play last night (in the challenge game against Wexford) because they had niggling injuries," he said.
"I expect those guys, however, to be training tomorrow night."
