Cork GAA clubs’ meetings on the controversial appointment of Gerald McCarthy as county hurling manager will have no bearing on the board’s decision, Co chairman Jerry O’Sullivan said at last night’s board meeting at Páirc Uí Chaoimh.

“These meetings have no standing in rule,” he told delegates in response to the much-publicised meeting on Sunday between the striking 2008 squad and club representatives.
