Injuries clearing for buoyant Tipp
The mood at yesterday's Tipperary press conference was one of quiet confident as manager Liam Sheedy looked forward to Sunday week's All-Ireland semi-final against Waterford.
Key men Conor O'Mahony, Seamus Callinan and Lar Corbett could be back firing on all cylinders for the Croke Park meeting of the two most recent Munster champions.
Centre-back O'Mahony played through the pain barrier in the recent Munster final win over Clare, after breaking a bone in his hand.
He is having the cast removed today and Sheedy remains hopeful that the defender will feature against the Deise.
"Conor played in a club match the following weekend (after the Munster final) but it was still a bit sore," the Tipp boss said.
"An X-ray showed up a slight snap, nothing out of the ordinary. He's in a cast but the cast is coming off this week.
"It's not ideal but at the same time with a panel of 33 guys it's unlikely that you are going to get through unscathed with club activity, etc.
"I'd be expecting I'd have a full panel to pick from, touch wood."
Callinan, who is emerging as one of the forwards of the year, and 2006 captain Corbett are also on the mend.
Sheedy added: "Seamus got a knock in the Under-21 final against Clare last Wednesday night so he has a bit of hip trouble.
"I don't think it will stop him from playing but he hasn't trained since then. Hopefully, he'll be back by the weekend.
"Larry has a problem with his heel and couldn't play with his club last weekend.
"He's probably done very little since the last match but again, hopefully, this weekend should see him back in action."
