Kingdom's Donaghy facing a long lay-off
Kerry will see out their National Football League campaign without the services of Kieran Donaghy after he dislocated his shoulder in yesterday's Division 1A defeat to Donegal.
The big Tralee man is set to be sidelined for two months, but it could be longer as the Kerry management anxiously await X-ray results on their player's damaged AC joint.
Donaghy fell awkwardly against Donegal defender Paddy Campbell, 21 minutes into yesterday's NFL clash in Letterkenny, as he teed up team-mate Mike Frank Russell for a point.
Voted the 2006 Footballer of the Year after starring at full-forward in last summer's All-Ireland run, Donaghy's appearance was his first for Kerry since he earned a suspension for being sent off against Fermanagh last month.
He will hope to be fit for Kerry's Munster SFC opener against either Clare or Waterford on June 3.
