Donegal 1-13 Derry 0-11

Donegal produced a sparkling attacking performance to dump Derry out of the Ulster Championship and set up a meeting with either Armagh or Fermanagh in the decider.

Michael Doherty and Rory Kavanagh were the twin destroyers that sent the Oak Leafers hurtling into the Qualifiers, scoring a combined total of 1-9.

It all ended in misery for Derry, with Enda Muldoon's straight red card late in the contest ruling him out of his side's second round Qualifier tie.

Neil Gallagher opened up the Derry defence with a deft flick from Neil Gallagher's long delivery to send Doherty in for a seventh minute goal.

It was no more than Donegal deserved, for they had been playing all the football, and should have had a second goal when Ciaran Bonner blasted over the bar from Christy Toye's assist.

Derry had little to offer in terms of attacking flair, the Bradley brothers completely snuffed out by paddy Campbell and Karl Lacey.

Enda Muldoon contributed three points from frees, while Donegal, through Rory Kavanagh and Bonner, eased into a five points lead, before corner back Francis McEldowney hit Derry's first score from play in stoppage time.

Donegal led by 1-5 to 0-4 at the break, and they had stretched the advantage to six by the time Derry started to display any real conviction.

Paul McFlynn and Joe Diver rose to the occasion, driving their side forward time and again, with midfielder Diver hitting two points.

A Paddy Bradley free narrowed the gap to a goal, but Donegal were able to raise the tempo again, with late scores from Doherty and Kavanagh, and a second for outstanding corner back Karl Lacey.
