McEneaney celebrates promotion with Louth
Donegal 1-09 Louth 1-12
Louth will be playing Division One football in 2007 after their win in today’s NFL Division Two final replay against Donegal.
In manager Eamonn McEneaney’s first season in charge, the Wee county lifted the Division Two title at Breffni Park – they also won the inaugural final in 2000.
Michael Doherty’s 20th-minute penalty strike handed Donegal an early advantage. But Louth led 1-06 to 1-05 at the interval thanks to a Mark Stanfield goal.
Louth’s Aaron Hoey and Darren Clarke hit some crucial scores in the second half as Donegal had full-back Paddy Campbell red carded, ten minutes from the end.
