Brennan gets GAA president's post
Kilkenny man Nicky Brennan has been elected the next president of the GAA as delegates voted on a successor to Sean Kelly at Congress today.
The 51-year-old Conahy Shamrocks clubman defeated Cork's Christy Cooney for the GAA's top job.
Brennan is in favour of the temporary opening of Croke Park to other sports - that motion was passed at Congress earlier today.
Brennan follows fellow Kilkenny men James Nowlan (elected 1901), Bob O'Keefe (1935) and Paddy Buggy (elected 1982) into the presidency.
