Dublin edge Donegal in Parnell Park

Tomas Quinn top-scored for Dublin with 1-04 as they edged past Donegal to earn their third Division 1A victory at Parnell Park today.

The St Vincent's marksman held his nerve in injury time to point a last-gasp 45-metre free and gift Paul Caffrey's men a hard-fought for two points.

The Ulster visitors - with manager Brian McEniff preferring to watch on from the stands rather than the touchline - led by 0-08 to 0-06 at the break - with Christy Toye (0-03) and Michael Hegarty and Colm McFadden (0-02 each) leading the way.

Quinn and Ciaran Whelan had lead the scoring for the Dubs with the lead changing five times in the opening 35.

Following another Whelan point to reduce the deficit to 0-09 to 0-10 on 40 minutes before Quinn blasted home a crucial penalty.

Raymond Sweeney was the guilty party for Donegal - sweeping down the advancing Conal Keaney as a Dublin goal looked on the cards.

With goalkeeper Michael Boyle in outstanding form despite the penalty concession, points from Toye, Colm McFadden and Rory Kavanagh sent McEniff's charges 0-13 to 1-09 in front into the final quarter, but Quinn and the Dubs just did enough in the end.
