Canavan to play on

All-Ireland-winning captain Peter Canavan is to continue with Tyrone for another year, quelling rumours of his retirement.

The talismanic former skipper has been included in manager Mickey Harte's squad for the upcoming Dr McKenna Cup.

However, Dermot Carlin will not feature during next year's campaign, having decided to go to the US for the summer.

Harte has already been hit with the departures of Kevin Hughes, Gerard Cavlan and Brian McGuigan.
