Tipp out of pocket after Fermanagh fixture furore

The Tipperary County Board are preparing to challenge the GAA's decision not to give them a slice of the revenue from the All-Ireland football qualifiers.

Croke Park has announced more than €2m in revenue from the qualifiers will be paid to counties who took part in the hurling and football championships.

However, Tipperary withdrew from their football qualifier against Fermanagh and therefore, the GAA says they are not entitled to any of the money.

The Tipperary county board was subsequently fined €5,000 for not fulfilling the fixture.

Chairman Michael O’Brien said yesterday that the county board would be putting forward a case to Croke Park on the issue.

The board will still receive the hurling allocation.
