Monaghan's hurling boss John Andrews has stepped down from his position after three years in charge of the Farney men.

Monaghan were defeated in an U-21 shield semi-final tie on Sunday and Andrews, who doubles as U-21 boss, opted to use the stage to call it a day.

Andrews has been linked with the Meath senior hurling manager's job.
