Ryan to become new Limerick captain

TJ Ryan will become the new Limerick hurling captain following Ciaran Carey's surprise withdrawal from the panel.

Carey quit the team surprisingly leaving boss Pat Joe Whelahan with a headache over who to take the captaincy.

However, Ryan is the man who holds onto the armband having been first given it last Sunday in the victory over Clare at the Gaelic Grounds.
