Injury victim Whelahan set for Offaly return

Injury victim Simon Whelahan is set for a return to the Offaly hurling team in a major boost to boss Mike McNamara's plans.

The Birr ace, brother of county stars Barry and Brian, has not played at all this year because of groin and hernia injuries.

However, he said: "The important thing is that I’m making improvement and I’m sure that the soreness will gradually disappear."
