Canavan wins Texaco Sportstars Award

Tyrone footballer Peter Canavan has won one of this year’s 10 Texaco Sportstars Awards.

Kilkenny hurler JJ Delaney, Irish soccer midfielder Damien Duff and rugby international Paul O’Connell were also among the prize winners.

The other award recipients were Darren Clarke (golf), Dermot Weld (racing), Ken Doherty (snooker), Emer McDonnell (camogie), Sean Lynch (rowing) and Gearoid Towey (rowing).
