Whelahan facing final ban
Birr boss Pat Joe Whelahan will be hit with a sideline ban ahead of the All-Ireland club hurling final against Dunloy on St Patrick's Day.
The former Offaly boss was cited for "unauthorised entry onto the field of play" in their semi-final win over Athenry and will likely be banished to the stands and hit with a fine.
It appears that Whelahan was reported for the incursion by a third party and not referee Seamus Roche.
