Birr boss hits out at GAA
Talismanic Birr boss Pat Joe Whelahan has lashed out at the GAA insisting it's one rule for the big counties and another for him.
Whelahan, an All-Ireland winning club manager last March when Birr beat Clarinbridge in Thurles, was forced to sit in the stands last Sunday following a yellow card in the final last season.
Birr beat Castletown by a goal two days ago in the Leinster SHC quarter-final but the stint in the stand angered Whelahan.
He said: "Cork boys can put in six subs, a Kerry fella can get a red card and can still play away and they give me a two-match ban for a yellow card.
"I think what they're doing is wrong."
