Davy wins top Munster GAA gong
Richie McCarthy, in only his third season in the green shirt, picks up the hurler of the year award following an outstanding season at full-back.
James O’Donoghue nabs the football equivalent, the Killarney Legion corner-forward enjoying a terrific debut season in the green and gold pilfering 2-3 in the Kingdom’s All-Ireland semi-final defeat by Dublin and being rewarded with a first All Star for his endeavours.
Davy Fitzgerald, meanwhile, was selected as manager of the year following Clare’s All-Ireland SHC final win.
“I am delighted the hard work and achievements of both James O’Donoghue and Richie McCarthy has been recognised,” said Bord Gáis Energy Managing Director David Kirwan.
“I would also like to congratulate Davy Fitzgerald for his exceptional achievements and work as manager of Clare.”
