DUBLIN hurler Liam Rushe has called on his team-mates to put the lessons learned from the last two championship summers to use when they face Limerick in the All-Ireland SHC quarter-final at Semple Stadium on Sunday (2pm).

In 2009, the Dubs made their championship exit after succumbing to an experienced Limerick side in Thurles while last summer they were left embarrassed by Antrim when a six-point lead vanished in the dying minutes as the Saffrons shocked Anthony Daly’s charges in Croke Park.

“I would like to see how many starters we have from that day now,” defends Rushe as he recalls the 2009 defeat to the Treaty men. “Probably only five or six from that team. It’s been a massive turnaround.
