McLoughlin set top miss Laois clash

CORK’S Lorcán McLoughlin is likely to miss next week’s All-Ireland qualifier with Laois due to injury.

The midfielder played the full 60 minutes of his club Kanturk’s win over Dromina in the county IHC on Saturday night but is believed to have sustained a fractured thumb during the match.

As a result, McLoughlin, who scored 10 points in the 0-21 to 1-12 victory, is likely to be unavailable for four-to-six weeks. McLoughlin’s clubmate, Cork senior footballer Aidan Walsh, picked up a minor shoulder injury in the same game but he is expected to be fit for the Munster final against Kerry next month in Killarney.
