Keenan left in dark over lights
The match, which had a throw-in time of 7pm, concluded in semi-darkness just before 8.30pm, with visibility an issue for both sets of players in the closing stages.
Bizarrely the floodlights in the stadium were switched on after the final whistle when the presentation of the trophy was being made to Keenan in the Hogan Stand and grounds staff were preparing the pitch for yesterday’s Division 1 and 2 finals.
“I don’t know what the point of turning on the lights when the game was over was,” queried Keenan.
“Definitely in the second half it was very dark. I have bad enough eyesight at the best of times without it being dark. If we were training in that we’d be complaining that we wanted the lights on. I don’t know what the decision was there.”
