McCrabbe’s leg not broken

DUBLIN hurler Alan McCrabbe could be fit for Sunday’s NHL Division 1 tie against Tipperary in Parnell Park after X-rays revealed he did not suffer a broken leg in their league defeat to Waterford in Walsh Park at the weekend.

McCrabbe’s leg not broken

McCrabbe sustained the injury in the first-half following a clash with Waterford defender Jamie Nagle. The Craobh Ciarán player was in serious pain before being rushed to Waterford General Hospital but a scan later revealed that he had not broken any bone but suffered bad bruising to his knee and a strain on his shin.

McCrabbe is on crutches and on a course of painkillers but may return to figure in manager Anthony Daly’s plans for the Tipperary game next weekend. A decision is to be taken on his fitness later this week.

Meanwhile, GAA chiefs yesterday rescheduled several fixtures that were postponed due to adverse weather conditions on Sunday. The All-Ireland Club SFC semi-final between Corofin (Galway) and St Gall’s (Antrim) is set for Saturday in Parnell Park (7.30pm) with Clare champions Kilmurry-Ibrickane waiting in the final.

The five NHL games in Divisions 2, 3A, 3B and 4 that were postponed on Sunday have now arranged for the weekend of March 6th and 7th.

Saturday, March 6th: Allianz NHL re-fixtures (2.30pm unless stated) Division Two: Laois v Kildare, Portlaoise, 5.45pm; Div 3A: Armagh v Mayo, Crossmaglen; Div 3B: Fingal v Wicklow, Swords; Div 4: Longford v South Down, Pearse Park.

Sunday, March 7th: Allianz NHL re-fixture: Div 4: Monaghan v Fermanagh, Innikeen, 12.45pm.
